VVirginia Village is a four-unit, walk-up apartment building FCHC has owned for over 20 years. A recent capital needs study found the building and grounds to be in very good condition and well-maintained.1
 | Constructed in 1941, at the same time as several other identical buildings in the
neighborhood, the building was rehabilitated and remodeled in 1998-1999.
Exterior walls are masonry and brick. Roofs are pitched with asphalt shingles;
gutters and downspouts provide drainage. Windows are double-hung, vinyl clad
with insulated glass.
|
 | The property is located at 300 South Maple Avenue. The building contains four,
one-bedroom apartments of about 520 square feet living space. The building has
a common front entrance and entry area, a common staircase to the second
floor, and a small second-floor landing. |
Financial Characteristics
Virginia Village operates without Federal housing assistance. FCHC
manages the property so as to maintain rents at a level affordable to
households with incomes at 40 percent of area median income.
The purchase and rehabilitation of Virginia Village was financed with
VHDA assistance underwriting commercial loans.
