Chantilly, Va., February 7, 2013– HomeAid Northern Virginia and Pulte Homes will celebrate the renovation of a 10-unit apartment building for Community Lodgings on February 20, 10:00 am at 612 Notabene Drive, Alexandria, Va. The renovation, which began in August 2012, will enable Community Lodgings to better serve the families in their programs, with the renovation of six new two-bedroom units and four one-bedroom units to the property. “Once again, HomeAid has been given the opportunity to work toward our mission of ending homeless in our community,” said Russell S. Rosenberger, Jr., HomeAid Northern Virginia President and president, Madison Homes, Inc. “This project exemplifies how important it is for non-profits and corporations to work together to help the community. Without the commitment of Pulte Homes and its 33 subcontractors, the renovation of the 10 apartments would not have been possible.”

This is an $870,000+ project with nearly 40% savings coming from the Builder Captain and Trade Partners, and includes new…

“This new building is absolutely gorgeous,” said Bonnie Baxley, executive director, Community Lodgings.  “I know our families will be inspired when they come into this clean, fresh, new space. It will give them a brand new outlook as our program helps them move from homelessness to independence.  These apartments are so beautiful any of us would be excited to live there. All of us here at Community Lodgings are grateful to everyone who helped to make this happen, but most especially to Pulte Homes and HomeAid Northern Virginia.”

“We are honored to have partnered with HomeAid and the City of Alexandria to address affordable and transitional housing needs in the area,” said Lewis Birnbaum, division president of Pulte Homes’ Mid-Atlantic operations. “For nearly 40 years, we have been a part of communities in the Metro DC area. Pulte Homes’ responsibility is not just to build homes, but to build and improve communities and positively impact the lives of our neighbors. It was a rewarding experience for us and our trade partners to roll up our sleeves and play a part in building a place for families to call home.”

Journalists are invited to tour the updated apartment building on February 20, 10:00 am, at 612 Notabene Drive in Alexandria. For more information, contact Denise Gavilan.
