Destin Marshall is a Housing Up resident and an incoming freshman at Morgan State University. Destin’s winning application highlighted his determination to overcome his circumstances and excel in high school. Destin is a natural leader who is motivated to make a difference. His work as a mentor and fundraiser at the Malawi Washington Foundation has helped support education for young girls.
He is disciplined, ambitious, and a great tennis athlete.
Earning a degree will enable him to pursue his goals and inspire his younger siblings. Destin will major in 
Psychiatric Nursing.

Toromo Funsho is an AHC resident services participant and an incoming freshman at the University of Virginia. Toromo was a devoted member of the Black Student Union (BSU) in high school and established a pen pal program with children in Sierra Leone, giving members of BSU the opportunity to develop relationships with younger people from different parts of the world. Toromo is an outstanding leader and has been consistently involved in extracurricular activities, balancing her academics and volunteer roles with great responsibility. Toromo plans to pursue a double major in Film and Psychology.
