Research
Housing Indicator Tool (HIT). Grounded in racial equity, this is a one-of-a-kind platform that provides the most up-to-date information on housing production across the region, with a comparison to established local housing targets. Check out the HIT Hub, where you can access the HIT Dashboard and its companion piece, Compounding Interests, Compounding Inequities: Racism, Housing, and Our Region’s Responsibility to Act.
Racial Equity Resource Center. HAND envisions a future where Black and brown communities share equitably in the knowledge, wealth and resources uniquely represented in and between Baltimore, Washington and Richmond. This resource center is for those who are dedicated to learning and taking action to center their organization’s work around racial equity. Check out materials from our racial equity learning series, articles, books and more here.
Access to Capital
Equity In Action. HAND and Greystone have teamed up to create Equity in Action! This initiative honors HAND’s commitment to center racial equity, models for our members what it means to engage in this work, and creates equitable solutions aimed at real estate developers who identify as Black, Indigenous, and people of color. Equity in Action is designed to support these groups, who are often met with the obstacle of accessing the capital needed to execute their plans to revitalize communities. Learn more here.
Partnerships
HAND Health & Retirement Benefits Packages. HAND is pleased to partner with The Center for Nonprofit Advancement, VitalHealth, and Nonstop Wellness to support HAND members with an opportunity to reevaluate their employee benefits packages. The workplace is one major area where health inequities still exist, and it is important to HAND that our members’ employees have access to healthcare that doesn’t create barriers to care and inhibit the use of services.
Coalition Building. HAND is a member of a number of coalitions that are committed to advancing our region’s progress on housing affordability and equitable development, including the DC Housing Priorities Coalition.
Career Center
Salary & Benefits Survey. This biennial survey provides HAND’s nonprofit members with critical data and information to ensure organizations are competitive and equitable in the provision of salaries and benefits offered to their employees.
Employment Listing. Use HAND’s job listings to find new talent for your organization. Looking for your next opportunity? Bookmark this page to stay abreast of the latest job announcements in affordable housing and community development.
HAND’s Training & Capacity-Building Series | Throughout the year we support members through training and resource sharing that builds our members’ capacity to dismantle structural racism and drive action towards solutions that address the region’s affordable housing crisis. This series is also a valuable resource for members to build meaningful partnerships that are critical to this work.
Training Grants | $200 grants available to HAND’s nonprofit members to reduce the cost of professional development training outside of HAND. Learn more here.
